Transfer Duty is presently calculated as follows on all transactions entered into or after the 1st of March 2005:

| Up to R 500 000 | R 0 |
| From R501 000 up to R1 mill | 5 % on Purchase Price |
| From R1 mill up | R25000 plus 8% of the value by which property exceeds R1 mill |
