No permanent surface
water. Main river flows only after heavy rain and the dam is full. The
dam holds water for a few months, but due to evaporation and use lasts about
4 - 5 months, depending upon the ambient temperatures. Large network
of watercourses all over the farm;
|
 |
Many waterpoints, which
were installed when it was run as a cattle farm. No cattle have been on the
farm for over seven years now. At present 13 waterpoints are used, all
supplied by a network of pipes from seven boreholes. Two have diesel
pumps, one windmill, one solar and 3 Escom power.

Is this a quality
property? The property must be seen in the context of the environment.
The land is not quality land in that the carrying capacity is relatively
low. An ecological study estimated the total carrying capacity of the 5820
hectares as 405 LSU. The veld is also very sensitive. However the
location makes it a quality property as it is adjacent to a new National
Park. Long term potential is for the fences between this National Park and
this property being dropped. This will give access to the big five on the
property without having to purchase them.
|
 |
Servitude along the
eastern and southern boundary in favour of Escom. No other landowner has
traversing rights and no public road divides the property;
|
 |
No internal fences
|
 |
The owner wishes to
sell as he has retired from business and spent the last two years building
the lodge. During this project he experienced a heart attack and had to have
an emergency by-pass operation. Owner currently lives in Johannesburg.
